Managing Mentor and Tutor Appointments - A Student Guide

Arranging Appointments    

Your Mentor/Tutor will email you to arrange a convenient day/time to meet.  Once agreed, you will receive an appointment confirmation from Advice Zone Online to your student email address. You will also receive a reminder email.    If you do not cancel this booking we will take this as the session has been accepted by you.      

Cancelling Appointments    

You will need to provide at least 24 hours notice should you need to cancel an appointment.    If you cancel less than 24 hours before your appointment or fail to attend more than twice in an academic term, further support will stop until you have met with a Disability Adviser.  This is to check whether the support is meeting your needs.    

How to cancel an appointment    

1. Log into AZO Online    

2. Select “Appointments”    

3. In “My booked appointments”, select cancel for the appropriate appointment.   

4. Email your Mentor, detailing the reason for the cancellation.     


You will be asked to confirm via email any attended, missed and/or cancelled appointments.  This information is sent to Student Finance, to demonstrate that you are receiving your support.      

Missed appointments and those cancelled with less than 24 hours notice will be deducted from your allocated support hours.
